MIC Construct wants to contribute to a safer and greener planet and build a better place to live in. The goal is to go beyond the legal requirements in the social (People), environmental (Planet) and economic (Prosperity) areas, and that on a voluntary basis.
MIC’s Sustainability & Citizenship priorities are focused on four pillars:
- People: MIC is committed to guaranteeing the well-being and safety of its employees. At the same time, the group wants to offer enough career development opportunities and social involvement possibilities.
- Engineering: MIC’s engineers strive to create sustainable building solutions.
- Environment: MIC aims to minimize its impact by reducing CO2 and waste, while attempting to attain certifications (LEED, BREEAM, … ) for its projects.
- Business Behaviour: MIC has a commitment to purchase sustainably, to promote circular economy and to follow the codes of conduct.
In striving for these priorities, MIC has to take into account 5 main challenges of its industry: climate change, society’s ageing, the growing need for green buildings, the lack of green energy and drinking water and the lack of talent management.
